The primary goal of the First Aid FUNdamentals program is to have participants aged between 9-11 understand when to get help, from whom and how to gauge the urgency of a situation.
Following the completion of the ‘First Aid FUNdamentals Workbook’, students will participate in a 2 hour session led by an instructor.
FUNdamentals Course Outline
- STOP activity (STOP to recovery position)
- Proper hand washing technique
- Choking skills (conscious and unconscious)
- AED discussion and demo
- Bleeding – common injuries (nosebleed, road rash, cuts)
- Basic Musculoskeletal injuries (including RICE, types of splints)
- Review activities and scenario practice-time permitting
