Online theory must be successfully completed prior to attending the in-person skills assessment.

When a student books and pays for the Skills Assessment, a booking confirmation email will be sent that includes the required link to access the Energy Safety Canada online theory course. Students must utilize the link provided in the booking confirmation email to complete the 3-hour online theory and exam before arriving for their scheduled skills assessment.

The in-person skills assessment at Spectrum Safety Services takes approximately 30–45 minutes.

Students must present:

• Government-issued photo ID
• A valid, non-expired H2S Alive certificate

If the online theory has not been successfully completed prior to arrival, the skills assessment cannot proceed and rebooking fees may apply.
Successful completion of the skills assessment results in a Certificate of Completion valid for three (3) years.

If a student is unsuccessful in the skills assessment, they will be required to register for the full 8-hour H2S Alive classroom course.

“The next 5 minutes were a blur, yet I did everything I was “trained” to do.  I took charge and asked others to assist, but in the end I used an AED to save a man’s life.”
